Interesting park with unique, partially reconstructed French fort. Very limited signage on the grounds. There is a small museum on site that tells a great history of the area. There were no guides at the fort when we were there on a holiday weekend which was unfortunate. Still a very scenic and unique historical site at a very rural location that tells an important story of early North American history. Seems like it could be so much more with additional resources.
This is an interesting historic site. There is a significant portion of the fort remaining to give visitors an historical perspective. At various times throughout the year, the site plays host to events, such as a rendezvous, to bring attention to the site and increase historical awareness.
It was nice and quiet here today. I walked around and stretched my legs looking at everything without anyone else around. Had the place pretty much to myself
We went on a rendezvous weekend for all of the epic period fun! So many cool things to experience! From period food, dress, music, crafts and wares of all kinds, competitions, and reenactments of many kinds!
Literally seems to be in the middle of nowhere just like 200 years ago. It's French fort replica, one of the better ones I think. Kinda reminded me of Fort Niagara. The gift shop was a little disappointing but I can see why, being so far out of everything. Still very enjoyable.
This hidden gem in Illinois explores the early French influences in the state. Very quiet the day we were there...and no interpreter but good signage throughout. Interesting, well kept grounds.
This is history. Its awesome tp go visit. Take your kids. More people should go
I went here this last summer. The vibe all around was so cool because everyone that likes this one thing all come here and we have a great time. We dance and shoot arrows from bows. And this is a very cheap place-mostly-so you can get gifts for you or friends for dollars. I've gotten jewelry and much other stuff.
